Susan Tibbon's Painted Eggs are individually created, solely by the artist, in her San Francisco studio.
The eggs may be natural egg shells or elliptically shaped blocks of non-endangered woods. They are treated with up to twenty coats of white painting ground, each layer sanded to a progressively finer finish, in the end achieving a perfectly smooth surface. The paintings are rendered in the finest water color pigments and sealed with a permanent acrylic fixative. Prices range from US$350 to $4000. |
